Me, too! And, try as I might, I still haven't figured it out yet.
Same.. something about the exact number of statues (83) and/or astrology.. and a reference to a Judges Guild product inspiring the statues. I'm not at all familiar with Judges Guild, but googling pointed me to these titles published in 1983. Stretching? Maybe.
Or googling combinations of 83 and astrology (being scientifically-minded, searching for astrology on purpose feels wrong, lol) pointed me to this page which has this to say:
..every 83 years Jupiter is back to where it was zodiacally, day by day. The reason is that although most astrology books indicate that Jupiter takes 12 years to go through the zodiac, the true figure is 11.862 years and if you multiply that number by 7, you get 83.034 years. Therefore, years separated in time by 83 years (i.e. 1514, 1597, 1680, 1763, 1846, 1929, 2012, 2095, etc) will have Jupiter at the same degree of the zodiac on the same dates – which could be considered as the possibility of history repeating itself.
The statue in hex 515 could certainly play into that theme.
