This isn't an error, but it would be nice if the page numbers of the spells were listed on the Mage & Cleric Spell List Pages.

That is a great idea!

I appreciate the work that has gone into it. The only thing is that it is not the kind of setting where I want to play.

I just recently got a big package from Helsinki and Nobleknight.

James you are producing some top knotch gaming materials.

Carcosa _feels_ good in the hands. It has been a long time since could say that about a gaming publication.

I am really looking forward to what is coming up next, particularly the hard back of the rules and the recently sponsored adventures.

Zeke does not go into the dungeon. He only goes as far into the cabin as to read the book of names.

The bodies would not deacy because they are always frozen. They found the corpse of a sailor who died in one of the expeditions to discover the Northwest Passage about 150 years after his death. He looked gruesome but well preserved. I reckon these would be suitable to bury. Zeke would have a hard time breaking the ground though. It would be frozen.

The writhing bodies is a pretty compleling and gruesome image. I reckon the zombies would be making creacking noises while their frozen joints were moved.

I have not played this game, so I have had to make some assumptions. Please challenge them, but do this constructively. Simply saying “No you’re wrong” is less than helpful. Saying “You got that bit wrong, the correct assumptions is . . .” is very helpful.
I like the fact that when the elf reaches 13th level his specialst mate has already hit 20th. I see this as a really good thing given that the elf has both fighting and magic use. The elf’s wizard companion has hit 15th level and is casting 8th level spells. This makes the elf have to make real trade offs for the advantages they get.
Given the lethality of this game, most of the game play will take place bellow 10th level. When I looked at that range, it was pretty clear that the doubling xp costs per level meant that the fractional differences between the classes were swamped by the geometric progression.  Once this stops at 10th level, the fractional difference have a chance to make themselves felt.
I propose to stop the doubling sooner and let the fractional differences come into play sooner. I have set the progression of Xp so that the when the specialist cracks 10th level the elf is 2.5 levels behind. The others fall in line according to their ratios to the elf.
I have used a few assumptions to calibrate these numbers. I have assumed that 70% of the character’s xp will come from treasure. I have assumed that they will blow frivolously or as day to day expenses 70% of that. This will leave 30% of their haul as accumulated wealth. I have then said that by 10th level a group of 6 players would have enough cash to be partners in a cool ship worth 90,000 silvers. This means that when the thief, sorry I mean specialist, reaches 10th level their xps will be in the range of 70,000.
It means that the treasure put in adventures will have to be scaled back so that it is not inflationary. But that is not a bad thing in my mind.
What do you reckon?

He really was "cracking the sads" over the structure of the module.

He probably whinges when his character gets killed by traps to. Walks off mumbling about "player agency and the social contract." Suck it up buttercup!

James, keep up the good work. Your module make a damnsight more sense than "the Tomb of Horrors".

His criticism, to me boiled fdown to "It's not fair!". For all his subscription to "gothic horror" he did not get it that horror is not about "fair". In fact it is about the opposite, cosmic forces that transcend our petty notions of of justice. Our pathetic little moral rullers are not up to the task of spaning their terrible bulk.

As soon as you walk into that misty valley, you have bought your ticket and the conductor has punched it. All aboard! If you make it to the end of the train ride, count yourself lucky.

Not that what happens after level 17 matters much in the grand scheme of things, but does the elf spell acquisition stop at level 17. This means that they gain no more spells per level at 18 plus?

Here are a few. I did a search for "Juegos de Rol y Estrategia"

There is even a government website praising the educational properties of roleplaying: http://www.bogota.gov.co/portel/libreri … patron=01.

The title of the article translates as "Learn with wizards, fairies and dragons". From the article it seems that there is a bookshop called  "la Nueva Librería Francesa" where the owner encourages game in the shop.
The address is Avenida Carrera 19 # No. 95 - 13  Bogotá, Bogota, Colombia. The phone number is (+57) 1 633 33 00.
They seem to have a facebook page, but I can not access that from work. You will have to do that part.
The person quoted as connected to the bookshop is Carolina Gómez. The article was from 2007, so she might not be there anymore. The bookshop still comes up as a lisiting under Juegos de Estrategia y Rol.

Two of the players listed are  Danilo Vega and Andrés Bohórquez. The last guy's family name is not that common a family name. The first guy's name is quite common.

For Bogota I get

ARMAGO LTDA
Dg 45 No. 16A-04 , Bogota D.C. , C.P 11001
TEL: 571 2457007

But their website is a dead link.

in Medellin:
Excalibur Games
57 (4) 2327284
Cr46 39-19 - - Medellín - Antioquia

A lot of the searches turn up businesses that do business and web strategy, or turn up playground equipment.

What are you trying to do?

I't cant be that hard. There are around 9 million people in Bogotá. There have to be a few of them there.

Do you speak spanish?

If you don't, I'll be happy to do a search for shops that sell roleplaying books. Places like that would be the best way to contact people. But if you don't speak spanish, you are cutting down your chances on getting on to someone.

My wife and her family are from Colombia. Are you trying to contact gamers in Colombia?
