Hmm well perhaps I was projecting my own love for burning things as a player a bit too much haha. Of course one can always opt not to cart all that around--or reduce the amount on the table (the gp cost difference would be pretty minimal and wouldn't effect the overall calculations that much).

Yeah it's a little on the generous side since starting gold at 1st level is 30-180 and the price of chain mail is 150!

Nice catch Aaron, the asterisk that was on the word document disappeared on blogger for some reason. It should be next to chainmail on the armor chart. Corrected on the blog.

Also a PDF file of the charts can be downloaded at the link above.

Oh yes this I forgot. Thanks for pointing this out, will duly change!

Hey folks,
I put together some random starting equipment charts for my table top LL game recently (to help speed up chargen at the table) and figured I'd put together one for LotFP.  If you are interested you can check them out here: http://hillcantons.blogspot.com/2010/10 … weird.html

OK so it looks like we have 5 players and that we are shooting for Sunday October 10th. If anyone is still interested I've set up a Yahoo group here as a hub: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/weirdfantasy . We will use this to store character and campaign files.

Looks like we have 3 or 4 players. Would this weekend or the next work, hogscape? Obviously a few spots still open if anyone else is interested.

BTW the setting background can be found here as part of my compendium of house rules and other crap: http://hillcantons.blogspot.com/2010/09 … asses.html

We have a player in Melbourne in my regular LL Skype game (who may be joining us).  It's usually around 10 or 11 in the morning his time when we start, so if that's not a problem on a weekend then cool.

I've been poring over my new copy of the Lamentations of the Flame Princess WF game (the free rules can be downloaded here: http://lotfp.blogspot.com) and finding it to be an interesting, quirky, horror-inflected take on OD&D or B/X-like rules.

I recently posted this on Dragonsfoot and realized that this might be a better venue.

I have already stolen a number of nifty ideas for house rules in my own Labyrinth Lord tabletop and Skype campaigns. Still I'm interested in seeing how the whole package rolls when played straight.

Anyone else out there interested in playing a Skype game using this rule set?

Nitty gritty:
1. The game will start as a mini-campaign i.e. with a short shelf life of say 3-6 sessions. (If it really rocks maybe we'll extend this.)
2. Play will center around the exploration of a limited sandbox campaign area with Vance, Lovecraftian and dark fantasy mish-mash overtones.
3. Sessions will be at least twice a month, most likely every other week.
4. Play will start around 6-8 pm Central US time (more flexible on a weekend).
5. We will use Skype for audio; Dragonsfoot chatrooms for the dice roller, and Dabbleboard for maps. All somewhat luddite-friendly to use.

Howdy folks, I am a ne'er do well 40-year old journalist turned political director living in San Antonio, Texas. Started gaming with the  much vaunted Holmes Basic set somewhere around 1979-1980 (do people really remember all this so clearly?). Played like a fiend until around 1986 when I abruptly dropped gaming for girls, punk rock, and zines.

Basically 20 years rolled by without picking up a set of funny dice (discounting Baldur's Gate) until punk rock was only being played softly on my earphones, the girl situation was resolved, and print publishing was a day job that needed escaping from. Long story short, now a born-again old school player enjoying DMing a fun LL (now with a healthy dose of LotFP house rules) tabletop and Skype campaign down here.
