Ref Book - Monster Book

I've been familiar with the game for roughly over a year, and had some questions about the Monster Book portion of the Ref Book. Hypothetically, what sorts of things could one roll up with the massive monster generator I read will be in it? Could it be used for genres such as science fiction as well? Will one be able to roll up monstrous NPCs, for example?
